I'm Marlène Grand, I was born in France in 1995 and I live and work in Vevey, Switzerland. I obtained a federal diploma in graphic design in 2016 and a post-graduate diploma in photography in 2022 at the CEPV in Vevey.
My practice revolves around the medium of the image.
By paying close attention to the space around me, I use the natural elements and objects that make it up as tools in my creative process. With an instinctive, experimental approach, I explore the possibilities of both analog and digital photography, as well as painting and sculpture. In this way, my intention is to demonstrate a certain sensitivity to the living world, based on notions of matter, place, temporality and imprint, while questioning our relationship with the tangible and the visible in an abstract and figurative aesthetic.
I also created Subtile, a label representing my graphic and editorial work, under which I publish fanzines, photo books, prints and all other kinds of printed matter.
I'm also a member of Espace Indiana (https://indianavevey.ch), a cultural space dedicated to the visual arts in Vevey.
